You might open your fridge in the hope of getting something cold to eat or drink, but you're disappointed because everything is warm. This means the refrigerator is not cooling.
This problem frequently occurs on hot summer days. There are several causes of it. You must acknowledge them and sort them out to save your eatables or drinks from being spoiled.
Why is the refrigerator not cooling?
1. Temperature control
The thermostat control powers the compressor or fan motor. As the temperature is set on the thermostat control, the compressor works accordingly and the rotation speed. The thermostat control button is situated inside the refrigerator or sometimes at the outer front side. The temperature is set manually by moving that button.
Sometimes that button is pushed towards the higher temperature by mistake or by brushing with any object while in the fridge. Or maybe you are confused in which direction you should move the button; you might be lowering the temperature, but instead, it increases, and there is no cooling.
When you open the fridge and find no cooling checking the temperature control should be your first step.
2. Blocking the vents
Sometimes people tend to overload food and stuff in their refrigerators. There is a limit to how much you should be placed inside the fridge at a time. If food items are more than the capacity of the refrigerator, it blocks the vents. Vents are for easy passage of cold air to produce a cooling effect; when they are blocked, there is no sufficient cooling and as a result.
Place as many items inside as your refrigerator can bear.
3. Defect in fan motors
Fans help to prevent overheating and perform cooling in the fridge. The fridge works on evaporator and condenser fan motors. The evaporator fan is responsible for cooling in the refrigeration unit, and the condenser fan is responsible for cooling in both freezer and refrigerator units.
So you can tell which fan is not working accurately by checking the cooling in both compartments. The cold air is drawn over the condenser or evaporator coils and then circulated.
These are located behind the refrigerators. Fans can also be replaced when not functioning correctly.
4. Damaged control boards

The damage of any one of the following boards hinders the refrigerator's cooling system. Boards can also be replaced or repaired. But this isn't easy to do on your own, so it is preferred to contact a professional.
5. Start Relay is not working.
When the starter relay switch is not functioning, the compressor is not supplied power, and the cooling process stops. This disconnection of the power supply can be tested and corrected.
