RETURN POLICY

 RETURN & WARRANTY POLICY

Effective Date: 10 January 2023 Website: www.partsofcanada.com

At Parts of Canada Ltd., we provide professional-grade components. This policy ensures transparency and alignment with manufacturer standards and Canadian consumer safety regulations.

1. Return Eligibility & Window

We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery. To be eligible for a return:

  • Items must be in original, factory-sealed packaging.
  • Manufacturer seals and labels must be intact.
  • Items must show no signs of installation, tool marks, or wear.
  • A valid Return Authorization (RA) Number must be clearly marked on the outer shipping box (not the product packaging).

2. Final Sale & Non-Returnable Items

Due to safety regulations and the technical nature of our inventory, the following are Final Sale:

  • Gas/Propane Components: Once shipped, these cannot be returned due to liability and safety certification standards.
  • Electrical/Electronic Parts: If the factory seal is broken, the item is non-returnable. (Unboxed electrical parts may be considered for store credit only, at our sole discretion, minus a testing fee).
  • Water Filters: Any filter with a broken sanitary seal or removed packaging.
  • Special Orders: Items not held in regular stock and ordered specifically for your request.
  • Installed Parts: Any part that has been "plugged in," bolted, or otherwise installed.

3. Damaged or Incorrect Shipments

  • Reporting: Visible shipping damage or discrepancies must be reported to info@partsofcanada.com within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Evidence: Photo documentation of the packaging and the part is required for all claims.
  • Resolution: We will provide a pre-paid return label for our errors. Upon receipt, we will ship a replacement or issue a full refund if the item is out of stock.

Disclaimer: Claims reported after this period may be more difficult to resolve and may be handled on a case by case basis.

4. Fees and Costs

  • Restocking Fees: Eligible returns are subject to a restocking fee of 15% to 25%, depending on the manufacturer’s requirements.
  • Cancellation Fees: Orders canceled after payment but before shipping are subject to a 5% administrative fee to cover non-refundable credit card processing costs. Orders canceled after shipping are treated as standard returns.
  • Shipping: Original shipping fees are non-refundable. The customer is responsible for return freight and insurance.

5. 90-Day Limited Warranty

Parts of Canada Ltd. warrants that products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase.

  • Scope: Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the part. We do not cover labor costs, service calls, or consequential damages.
  • Exclusions: This warranty is void if the defect results from improper installation (by a non-certified technician), misuse, power surges, or unauthorized modification.

This limited warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

6. Refund Procedures

  1. Authorization: You must request an RA Number via our support portal/email before shipping.
  2. Inspection: Returns are inspected within 3–5 business days of arrival.
  3. Issuance: Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for your financial institution to process the credit.
  4. Rejection: Items returned in a condition other than "New/Sealed" will be held for 14 days for customer pickup or disposed of; no refund will be issued.

Return shipping without an RA Number may result in delays or refusal.

7. Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer: Parts of Canada Ltd. is a reseller. To the extent permitted by law, Parts of Canada Ltd. is not responsible for injuries, property damage, or loss of use resulting from the installation or failure of any part. We strongly recommend that all components be installed by a licensed and insured professional.

8. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes & Collections

By placing an order with Parts of Canada Ltd., the customer agrees to:

Resolution First: Contact info@partsofcanada.com and allow ten (10) business days for resolution before filing a dispute.

No Chargebacks on Certain Items: Chargebacks are not permitted for Final Sale items or for returns that do not meet the Original/Sealed packaging requirement (Submitting a chargeback for Final Sale items or for returns that do not meet our published policy may be considered misuse of the chargeback process).

Claims underService Not as Described” are invalid if the product was ordered incorrectly or installed by a non‑certified individual. Claims that a product ‘not as described’ are not valid where the product matches the description on our website and was ordered incorrectly or installed by a non certified individual.

Proof of Fulfillment: Carrier tracking, checkout acceptance, and IP logs together serve as binding proof that the order was fulfilled as described.

Recovery of Costs: Meritless chargebacks may result in a $50 processing fee plus recovery of any collection or legal costs.

Fraudulent Claims: Retaining products while demanding refunds (“friendly fraud”) may be reported to credit agencies and can lead to permanent account suspension and blacklisting across our partner network.

9. General Provisions & Right to Refuse

Parts of Canada Ltd. maintains a professional environment for our staff and customers. To that end:

  • Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel orders at our sole discretion, particularly in cases of suspected fraud, "buy-and-try" behavior (ordering multiple parts to diagnose a problem and returning the unused ones), or if a user is verbally abusive to our staff.
  • Modifications: We reserve the right to amend, update, or change any part of this Return & Warranty Policy at any time. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting to the website. It is the customer's responsibility to review the policy prior to each purchase.

If charged, a full refund will be issued.
  • Severability: If any part of this policy is found to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction (such as specific consumer laws in Quebec), the remaining portions of the policy shall remain in full force and effect.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I return a part if I opened the box but didn’t use it?

For most items, we accept returns only if the original manufacturer seal is intact. Because we sell technical components, an open box can compromise the perceived integrity of the part for the next customer. Electrical components and water filters cannot be returned once the box is opened.

I ordered the wrong part by mistake. Can I return it?

Yes, as long as it is not a "Final Sale" item (like gas or electrical parts) and the packaging is still factory-sealed. Please note that for "change of mind" or "incorrect part ordered" returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs and a restocking fee.

What is a "restocking fee" and why do you charge it?

A restocking fee (15%–25%) covers the cost of technical inspection, repackaging, and administrative processing required to return a part to our inventory. Many of our components are specialized and require a multi-point safety check before they can be resold.

Why are gas and electrical parts "Final Sale"?

Safety is our top priority. Once a gas or electrical component leaves our controlled
environment, we cannot verify if it has been exposed to static electricity, improper handling, or testing. To ensure every customer receives a 100% safe, factory-certified part, we do not accept returns on these categories.

Can I cancel my order before it ships?

Yes. If you cancel before the item is processed and shipped, we will refund your
payment minus a 5% administrative fee. This fee covers the non-refundable costs
charged to us by credit card processors.

What if the part I received is defective?

All our parts come with a 90-day manufacturer warranty. If a part fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship, contact us immediately. Please note that
warranties do not cover damage caused by improper "DIY" installation. We highly recommend installation by a licensed technician.

How do I get a Return Authorization (RMA) Number?

To start a return, email info@partsofcanada.com with your order number and a photo of the sealed part. Once approved, we will issue an RA number. Do not ship parts back without an RA number, as they will be rejected at our warehouse.

My package arrived damaged. What should I do?

If the box is visibly damaged, please take photos before opening it and contact us
within 72 hours. We will work with the carrier to resolve the issue and get a
replacement part sent to you as quickly as possible.
